C-WMD Phase 2 Project – Multinational Table-Top Exercise

Background
The C-WMD Network in RACVIAC is organising its first “in-person” activity in
2021 with the aim to provide facilitated discussion and case study tutorial on four C-WMD projects. The C-WMD Network welcomes the continuous support from US European Command (USEUCOM), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and US Department of Energy (DOE) as well as the Republic of Croatia.
Purpose and Objectives
This three-day activity will focus on facilitated discussion and case study tutorial on four C-WMD projects, namely: Risk Atlas, Dual Use and Emerging Technologies, Trend Analysis and Bio Security project. The first day of the activity will be focused on Bio Security project, the second one on Dual Use and Emerging Technologies project while the third day will be focused on Risk Atlas project. All of the topics and discussions during this three-day event will be inevitably intertwined with the fourth project: Trends Analysis.
The second day of the activity, focused on the Dual Use and Emerging Technologies, will be organised in cooperation with the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) that will be our host during this day.
The main objectives of this activity are:
- To discuss development of four C-WMD Phase 2 Projects;
- To exercise regional cooperation through the RACVIAC C-WMD portal;
- To peer review progress in the development of C-WMD national strategies;
To support the execution of national table top exercises.
Participation
The aim of this activity is to bring together up to 3 (three) members from each participating nation. It is highly recommended that the countries that have yet to complete the process of a C-WMD national strategy nominate some of the members from their national drafting/working groups while the countries that have already completed this process are expected to nominate competent authority planners and/or implementers engaged in the implementation of the C-WMD national strategy and the development of the C-WMD projects.
Detailed terms of participation and financial arrangements will be specified in the corresponding Invitation Letter and Administrative Information.
Methodology
The event is designed as an expert forum and will be conducted through the experts’ presentations, case studies and discussions.
