“Strategic Communication Course” held in RACVIAC

The three day-long “Strategic Communication Course” was organized by RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation in cooperation with the Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Centre of the Hellenic Republic from 02 to 04 July 2024 in RACVIAC.

The Course provided insights into the functioning of strategic communication in a fast evolving environment that is being molded by widespread digitalization, the introduction of cutting-edge technology, the spread of false information online, and the steadily declining public confidence in government agencies.

The event was closed by H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie, Director of RACVIAC.

Addressing the audience Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie extended special thanks to RACVIAC partner in this activity, the Multinational Peace Support Operations Training Centre of the Hellenic Republic. He expressed deepest gratitude to those who made this journey possible: “To our esteemed instructors, thank you for your unwavering dedication, expertise, and guidance. Your passion for strategic communication has been a constant source of inspiration, and we are profoundly grateful for the knowledge you have imparted to us”, he said.

Furthermore, Ambassador Grigorie underscored that throughout this course the principles and practices underpinning effective strategic communication have been thoroughly examined. The nuances of crafting compelling narratives, the importance of understanding the audience, and the power of leveraging various media channels to amplify messages were explored. Case studies were analyzed, thought-provoking discussions were engaged in, and hands-on work facilitated the application of theory to practice, he added.

Director of RACVIAC spotlighted one of the most significant takeaways from this course which is the recognition that communication is not merely about transmitting information; it is about creating connections. In an age where digital communication often prevails, the ability to forge authentic connections has never been more critical. Every word, every gesture, and every interaction holds the potential to build bridges, foster understanding and drive meaningful change, he stressed.

The Course ended with the awarding of certificates to more than 25 participants from the region who gained a better understanding of NATO policy and concepts in the area of STRATCOM and who were updated on the latest developments in the field of strategic communications. During the Course the participants mastered practical skills of importance in strategic communications in making a military-political decision, as well as the necessary conditions for its perfect functioning.
