On Thursday, 4 May 2023, the representatives of the South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) headed by Commander Brigadier General Evangelos Mitroutsikos visited RACVIAC. They were hosted by RACVIAC team headed by RACVIAC Director, Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie.
In order to gain an insight into the history and work of RACVIAC, SEEBRIG delegation was presented with general information about the Organisation and some specific areas they were interested in. RACVIAC presentation was followed by a presentation on SEEBRIG.
As far as cooperation with SEEBRIG is concerned, it should be emphasized that RACVIAC Mobile Training Team will carry out the “Women and Security – Gender Awareness Course” which will take place in Kumanovo between 12 and 16 June 2023. Its purpose is to increase the awareness of SEEBRIG Staff about the gender perspective and its implementation in Peace Support Operations.
In his Welcome speech AMB Grigorie pointed out that up to now RACVIAC has certified more than 170 gender instructors in the SEE region and that the “Women and Security – Gender Awareness Course” is especially tailored to suit SEEBRIG needs, whose main focus is on the integration of the gender perspective into military operations. He expressed hope that this activity will further deepen cooperation in the area which will be most beneficial for the two Organizations.
While noting down his impressions in the RACVIAC guestbook BG Mitroutsikos expressed hope concerning continuation of fruitful cooperation between the two Organisations.
