On June 14, 2024 the representatives of the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF Global) and Euro-Atlantic Resilience Centre (E-ARC), paid a visit to RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation. The host was Director of RACVIAC, H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie.
Ambassador Grigorie warmly greeted the guests and congratulated them for paying a visit to RACVIAC. They got introduced to the Centre’s operations and RACVIAC staff responsibilities.
After presenting the Centre’s history, mission, vision, achievements to date, annual Programme from 2024 and projections for 2025 RACVIAC staff members provided further details about how the Centre’s Programme of activities has been developed, highlighting how it has changed and evolved over time to better meet the needs and requests of the Members.
The aim of this visit was to provide more detail on the scope of their work in the region, the technical areas which are in focus, and to identify areas where the organisations can collaborate. Aside from that, this visit was an opportunity to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between RACVIAC and CRDF Global which provides a basis for concrete collaboration, concepts for joint programming etc.
The future cooperation with E-ARC and CRDF Global was discussed with the special emphasize on the partnership with respected partners regarding the ” Conference on Resilience and Protection of Critical Infrastructure”, the second flagship event of the RACVIAC. The Conference is supposed to be held in Spring 2025.
After presenting the work of CRDF Global and E-ARC in the region, the guests thanked for the invitation, expressed the appreciation for RACVIAC activities and the role that RACVIAC has in fostering dialogue and cooperation in the region. Additionally, they indicated that they are eager to work towards boosting their involvement in RACVIAC’s operations.
Director of RACVIAC and guests agreed to continue the dialogue and to explore the possibilities CRDF Global and E-ARC greater participation in the work of Centre for Security Cooperation, having in mind the common goals of promoting security and cooperation in SEE and beyond.
