Upon the invitation of RACVIAC Director, H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie, Professor Ivo Lučić, PhD, Rector of the „Dr. Franjo Tuđman“ Defence and Security University in Zagreb and Professor Gordan Akrap, PhD paid a visit to RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation on January 16, 2024.

After a tête-à-tête with RACVIAC Director Professor Lučić was introduced to the history of RACVIAC and its ongoing efforts to improve international defence and security cooperation. Additionally, the 2024 Programme was presented with new opportunities to enhance cooperation between the „Dr. Franjo Tuđman“ Defence and Security University in Zagreb and RACVIAC and support one another’s endeavours to advance regional stability.

As the „Dr. Franjo Tuđman“ Defence and Security University focuses on the field of defense and homeland security systems, Professor Lučić and Ambassador Grigorie both recognize the high value of future cooperation to further the common ideals of international dialogue and regional security in South East Europe.

The visit’s aim was to join academic and diplomatic potential to exchange expertise regarding the current security challenges. Profesor Lučić emphasised the value of establishing cooperation with RACVIAC and underlined the importance of connecting the Organization with the next generation of experts.

Acknowledging the common goals of security and collaboration throughout South East Europe, Professor Lučić and H.E. Ambassador Grigorie agreed to invest efforts in joint ventures.

RACVIAC Director welcomed the interest in the work of the Organization and praised the expressed interest in future cooperation, given that the areas of study of „Dr. Franjo Tuđman“ Defence and Security University overlap with most of the topics covered by RACVIAC activities.
