From 20 to 23 October 2025 RACVIAC participated in the Working Meeting of the Vienna Document-2011 Visit, hosted by the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The initiative aims to maintain politically binding confidence and transparency concerning military activities within the OSCE’s area of application, in line with the Law on Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Vienna Document 2011.
RACVIAC was represented by LTC Duško Marić, Activity Manager in CTST Pillar. The visit brought together representatives from 27 OSCE member states, including the OSCE’s Center for Conflict Prevention in Vienna and the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The program was officially opened by Major General Tomo Kolenda, who highlighted the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s dedication to transparency, trust, and international cooperation in defense and security.
As part of the visit participants were shown the operational capabilities and tactical-technical equipment of the Tactical Support Brigade and the Air Force and Air Defense Brigade, as well as elements of the Support Command stationed at the Rajlovac location. The demonstrations included unit structures and key tasks, communication and logistical systems, engineering capacities, demining, aircraft and air defense systems, and the capabilities of the Military Police and ABHO company in securing facilities and responding to chemical, biological, and radiological threats. Special emphasis was placed on the training, interoperability, and operational readiness of the units in various conditions.
The Vienna Document 2011 represents a fundamental OSCE mechanism for arms control and confidence-building, allowing member states to exchange information on military forces, plans, and activities, and to conduct visits and inspections to enhance transparency and reduce the risk of misunderstandings or conflicts.
