From 2 to 6 February 2026, RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation participated in the 40th meeting of the Permanent Working Group of the Sub-Regional Consultative Commission (SRCC) of the Agreement on Sub-Regional Arms Control, held in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

RACVIAC was represented by Vedrana Djukarić, Activity Coordinator from the Cooperative Security Environment (CSE) Pillar, who briefed the participants on RACVIAC ongoing activities in support of the implementation of the Agreement.

In her presentation, RACVIAC representative highlighted the Centre’s long-standing contribution to the execution of the Agreement, particularly through the organization of the Dayton Article IV Courses. She informed the participants about RACVIAC recent training activities and outlined plans for the upcoming Dayton Article IV Course scheduled to be conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2026.

Convened under Article IV, Annex 1-B of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the meeting gathered representatives of the Parties to the Agreement, as well as representatatives of OSCE.

During several days of intensive working sessions, the participants exchanged information on the current status of the Agreement’s implementation, reviewed ongoing and planned activities, and discussed preparations for future Dayton Article IV training courses. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation among the Parties and ensuring the continued effectiveness of the sub-regional arms control regime, as well as   on the celebration on the 30th anniversary of siginig of the agreement to be celebrated in June in Vienna.

 

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of the Agreement on Sub-Regional Arms Control as a key confidence- and security-building measure in South East Europe. Participants also underlined the valuable role of RACVIAC in supporting the implementation of the Agreement through capacity-building, education, and training activities.
