RACVIAC Director, H.E. Ambassador Constantin – Mihail Grigorie attended on 3rd  and 4th October 2023 in Zagreb, Croatia the 11th Defence Cooperation Initiative (DECI) Chiefs of Defence (CHODs) Meeting.  He was accompanied by Deputy Director RADM Predrag Stipanović.

DECI (Defence Cooperation Initiative) is a political-military initiative, founded in 2012 in order to promote cooperation among countries in the vicinity of the Adriatic Sea (Albania, Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia), to foster the definition of shared military policy for security and defence and to contribute to stability, security and growing prosperity of the region. This year’s event was hosted by the Croatian Armed Forces, and the meeting was moderated and chaired together with the Italian Armed Forces. During this event North Macedonia officially became a new DECI member.

The Conference took place at the Croatian Defence Academy Conference Center on 4th October 2023.

The Conference consisted of 3 Panels, namely: “Regional Security and Stability“, “Capacity Building, Training and Cooperation Opportunity” and “DECI Involvement in International Organizations”.

Upon the invitation of Admiral Robert Hranj, Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, RACVIAC Director had an opportunity to address the CHODs, present RACVIAC as organization and share his thoughts and views on the current situation and challenges as part of the 3rd Panel. He also used the opportunity to hold several bilateral meetings with CHODs in which he emphasized the importance of RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation for promoting security cooperation and dialogue in the SEE region and sought an opportunity to foster collaboration in RACVIAC activities.
