RACVIAC Director H.E. Ambassador Constantin – Mihail Grigorie paid a visit to Split University on 9 February 2024. Rector of University of Split, Professor Dragan Ljutić, PhD hosted him on University premises.
The aim of this visit, the first meeting between RACVIAC Director Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie and Rector Ljutić, is the continuation of the five-year Project “Improving Security Governance through Implementation of Forensic Science in State Institutions and Agencies”.
RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation and the University Department for Forensic Sciences of the University of Split have decided to strengthen their co-operation by entering into a MoU wich was signed in September 2022.
The academic partner in this joint project, the University of Split, Department for Forensic Sciences, owns the knowledge and expertise regarding the subject and can offer a variety of opportunities which can enhance the abilities of RACVIAC Members to address the challenges they are facing while the third partner in this activity is RAI with its network of experts.
In addition to the abovementioned RACVIAC has become a teaching base for the University of Split and student internships are a valuable contribution to the joint project.
Professor Ljutić praised the visit of Ambassador Grigorie, thanking him for the efforts invested in the Project so far and expressed hope that mutual cooperation will continue and intensify in the future.
Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie also paid a visit to the Mayor of the City of Split, Mr. Ivica Puljak, who received him on the City of Split town hall premises. Director of RACVIAC introduced Mayor Puljak to the activities of RACVIAC and Programme for 2024.
Mr. Puljak expressed gratitude for the presentation of upcoming RACVIAC activities and praised the efforts wich RACVIAC invests into fostering dialogue on security matters in SEE region. Mr. Stjepan Roglić, Honorary Consul of Romania to Split, also took part in the meeting.
