The Director of RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation, H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie, met with the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Zukan Helez and the Assistant Minister of Defense, Mr. Zoran Šajinović, who is also the Chairperson of the Multinational Advisory Group (MAG), ahead of the SEDM Ministerial Meeting taking place on 27 November in Sarajevo.
The discussion reaffirmed the strong and longstanding partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and RACVIAC. Bosnia and Herzegovina remains a full and active member of the Centre, with consistent contributions across RACVIAC programmes. In that regard, Minister Helez stressed continued engagement of national experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina, including two former Directors, current MAG Chairperson and Activity Managers through all those years.
RACVIAC Director highlighted the significant leadership role Bosnia and Herzegovina has played within RACVIAC. The country has chaired the Multinational Advisory Group (MAG) twice in the past and, as of October this year, once again holds the MAG Chairmanship, with Mr. Šajinović serving as Chairperson. During the meeting they also discussed the upcoming MAG meeting, which will be held at the end of April 2026 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina’s leadership has been instrumental in steering RACVIAC objectives and strengthening regional cooperation.
The meeting further acknowledged Bosnia and Herzegovina’s steadfast support through hosting numerous RACVIAC activities over the years, including key arms control and security sector events, as well as its active engagement in the C-WMD Network and related regional initiatives.
Ambassador Grigorie welcomed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s reliable financial commitment to the Centre and underlined that there are currently no outstanding issues in bilateral cooperation. He emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to serve as an exemplary Member, fully meeting all obligations under the RACVIAC Agreement. Director of RACVIAC used the opportunity to extend the official invitation to the Minister of Defence to pay an official visit to our Centre, which Minister Helez accepted with a pleasure.
Both sides expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to meet within the framework of the SEDM Ministerial Meeting and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in support of peace, stability, and security in South East Europe.
