On 26th and 27th August 2021 Director of RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation, MG (ret.) Jeronim Bazo, payed a two-day visit to HQ SEEBRIG (the South-Eastern Europe Brigade) in Kumanovo, North Macedonia. He was accompanied by Colonel Gerhard Schweiger, Planning & Liaison Officer for Western Europe & International Organisations.
The purpose of this visit was to represent RACVIAC at the official Handover-Takeover (HO-TO) ceremony of the South-Eastern Europe Defence Ministerial (SEDM) / Political Military Steering Committee (PMSC) Chairmanship from Albania to Bulgaria and to hold bilateral talks with HQ SEEBRIG to boost the already existing mutual relationship.
The official HO – TO ceremony and the 22nd Anniversary Ceremony of HQ SEEBRIG were held according to the planned programme. Representatives from all SEEBRIG Member Nations, dignitaries from Albania and Bulgaria as well as the accredited Defence Attachés to North Macedonia took part in the ceremony which was held at the “Boro Menkov Barracks”.
The bilateral meeting was held in an open-minded and frank atmosphere. The discussions during the meeting concerned the programmes of the last trimester 2021 and all activities planned for 2022. For further, more effective cooperation, permanent direct contact via the Planning and Liaison Officer for SEE, should be fostered.
