The Director of RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation, H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie, met on December 18, 2024 in Belgrade with Serbia’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security Policy, Ambassador Igor Kuželka, to discuss ongoing collaboration and future initiatives aimed at strengthening regional stability and security.

During the meeting Ambassador Grigorie expressed appreciation for Serbia’s steadfast support and active participation in RACVIAC ever since its inception. He acknowledged Serbia’s significant financial contributions and contribution via its representatives among RACVIAC staff, which have been instrumental for the Organization’s success. Special recognition was given to Serbia’s consistent financial support since 2010 and its leadership in three successful chairmanships in the RACVIAC Multinational Advisory Group (MAG).

Discussions also highlighted the potential for enhanced cooperation, particularly through the appointment of a seconded Serbian representative to international staff of RACVIAC. Ambassador Grigorie emphasized the mutual benefits this move would bring, underscoring the constructive dialogue initiated with the representatives of Ministry of Defence of Serbia during the past few months.

RACVIAC Director complimented Serbia’s role in hosting some of RACVIAC activities, such as the Dayton Article IV Orientation Courses and the South East European Parliaments’ Defense and Security Committees’ Annual Meeting. He emphasized their importance in building trust and cooperation in South East Europe and reaffirmed RACVIAC support for Serbia’s ongoing efforts.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared vision for a secure and stable South East Europe, expressing optimism regarding future joint initiatives together with other Members to promote regional stability and prosperity. Ambassador Kuželka conveyed Serbia’s unwavering support for RACVIAC, highlighting the Organization’s pivotal role in fostering regional security cooperation, confirming the intention of Serbia to second a representative as a member of international staff of RACVIAC.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to furthering this valuable partnership. RACVIAC Director extended his gratitude for the Serbian Foreign Ministry’s support over the course of many years, and said that he is looking forward to its continued active engagement in RACVIAC activities.
