  • MAG CONTACT POINTS DISCUSS PRIORITIES FOR RACVIAC PROGRAMME 2027

On 24 June 2026, RACVIAC held an online meeting of the Multinational Advisory Group (MAG) Contact Points, bringing together representatives of Member States and the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative (DPPI) to discuss priorities for the 2027 Programme of Activities and RACVIAC’s long-term direction.

Opening the meeting, RACVIAC Director Ambassador Miroslav Šćepanović emphasized that the discussions were not only about planning future activities but also about reaffirming RACVIAC core values of dialogue, cooperation, mutual trust and a shared commitment to regional security and stability. He highlighted the growing importance of reliable platforms for cooperation in today’s interconnected security environment and reaffirmed RACVIAC commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue, professional cooperation and practical responses to common challenges.

Major Elton Kalo, RACVIAC Planning and Liaison Officer for South-East Europe, presented the programming process, reviewed activities implemented in 2026, and introduced new thematic areas proposed for 2027, including Autonomous Weapon Systems and Human Control Challenges, Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence in Emergency Services, and Strategic Communication in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.

RACVIAC Pillar Programme Leaders and C-WMD Network Leader also presented their proposed activities for 2027, followed by discussions with the MAG Contact Points, who provided feedback and additional proposals to help shape the Programme.

The meeting concluded with an overview of the next steps in preparing the draft 2027 Programme of Activities, which will be submitted for approval at the 56th MAG Meeting in October. A new RACVIAC Questionnaire will be distributed to MAG Contact Points with an aim to have their inputs by the end of July to support the timely preparation of the final draft.
