On Wednesday, 30th July 2025, H.E. Donika Hoxha, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of Croatia, visited RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation.
She was warmly welcomed by H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie, Director of RACVIAC, and his team. The visit began with a cordial tête-à-tête meeting in the Director’s office, followed by a working meeting that provided a comprehensive overview of RACVIAC’s mission, current Programme, and its role in regional security cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Grigorie congratulated Ambassador Hoxha on her recent appointment and expressed appreciation for her decision to visit RACVIAC so early in her mandate. He underlined the symbolic importance of this visit in light of Albania’s current Chairmanship of the Multinational Advisory Group, noting that Albania is holding this position for the third time which underscores the country’s leadership and long-standing commitment within the organization.
Director Grigorie also commended Albania’s proactive role in RACVIAC initiatives, including the successful hosting of last year’s high-level event on cyber and hybrid threats in South East Europe and recognized country’s steadily increasing financial contributions. He further expressed gratitude for Albania’s firm support of the proposal to increase Member countries’ contributions.
Highlighting Albania’s strong operational engagement, Ambassador Grigorie expressed appreciation for the secondment of Albanian personnel to key roles within RACVIAC and looked forward to the continued rotation of this vital support. Special recognition was also extended to Major General (ret.) Jeronim Bazo for his outstanding contributions as a former Director of RACVIAC.
Ambassador Grigorie took the opportunity to announce RACVIAC’s upcoming 25th anniversary celebration this October, which will coincide with the autumn MAG Meeting – a moment to reflect on past achievements and set the course for the future.
Ambassador Hoxha thanked the Director and his team for the warm welcome and hospitality. She reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to continued collaboration and underscored the Centre’s role as a unique platform for fostering dialogue, trust, and cooperation in the region.
Both Ambassadors expressed their shared dedication to further strengthening the already fruitful partnership between RACVIAC and Albania, and to jointly advancing initiatives that serve the interests of all RACVIAC Members, with the aim of building a safer and more connected region.
