GToT Course draws to a close in RACVIAC

Today the “Gender Training of the Trainers Course” came to an end on RACVIAC premises in Rakitje. It was carried out from 5th to 15th February by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia (CAF) with the support of the Nordic Centre for Gender in Military Operations (NCGM).

The Course Director LTC Marija Čičak expressed her hope that the knowledge and skills acquired during this course would be beneficial throughout the participants’ military careers and enhance the implementation of the gender perspective within their armed forces. “Special thanks to our trainers and guest instructors, who are outstanding experts and training practitioners in the field of the gender perspective”, she added.

In closing, the audience was also addressed by H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie, Director of RACVIAC, who thanked the Course Director for customising the Course to meet the needs of the participants, as well as the lecturers and instructors for sharing their expertise and putting a tremendous effort into the execution of this event.

He once more emphasized that the organization of this GToT course is a confirmation of the recognition of RACVIAC expertize and contribution in promoting equal gender policies and opportunities in the security sector. Since NATO approves the GToT curriculum and has entrusted RACVIAC with conducting such an important Course, this event serves as proof of the international appreciation and recognition of RACVIAC work to foster dialogue and secure human rights globally.

At the end of the Closing Ceremony H.E. Ambassador Grigorie, together with RACVIAC Deputy Director RADM Predrag Stipanović, handed out certificates and RACVIAC Coins to the instructors, representatives of security sector institutions from RACVIAC Members and to the participants from the Jordanian army.
