As part of the regular rotation of staff, RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation recently marked the end of the professional tours of two esteemed colleagues, Major Levente Tóth and Lieutenant Colonel Arta Driza.

Major Levente Tóth joined RACVIAC on 1 July 2021 as an Activity Manager in the Cooperative Security Environment (CSE) Pillar. A graduate of the University of Law, Major Tóth has been a member of the Hungarian Defence Forces since 2008, serving in various roles at the Ministry of Defence, including as a legal officer and senior defence policy officer. During his military career, he also participated as a legal advisor in the EU Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM). Throughout his time at RACVIAC, Major Tóth contributed significantly to the implementation of the Centre’s Programme and was particularly committed to fostering regional cooperation in arms control and confidence and security building measures.

Lieutenant Colonel Arta Driza joined RACVIAC on 2 August 2021 as the Planning and Liaison Officer for South East European Countries. With a strong military background and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, LtC Driza brought a unique combination of operational and strategic expertise to RACVIAC. Prior to joining the Centre, she served in various command and staff positions in the Albanian Armed Forces, including participation in NATO’s Operation ALTHEA. In addition to her professional achievements, LtC Driza is a champion chess player, having represented Albania in eight World Chess Olympiads.

On the occasion of their farewell, both colleagues addressed the RACVIAC team and expressed their appreciation for the experience gained and friendships formed during their time at the Centre.

Director of RACVIAC, H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie, extended his sincere gratitude to both Major Tóth and Lieutenant Colonel Driza for their professionalism, dedication, and important contributions to the Centre’s mission. He acknowledged their efforts in advancing regional cooperation and fostering dialogue among South East European countries, noting that their work has left a lasting mark on the Centre’s development.

Both of them came to RACVIAC as professionals and colleagues, but leave as friends whose presence will be missed. We are thankful for their commitment, collegiality, and the positive spirit they brought to the workplace.

In the name of the entire RACVIAC team, Ambassador Grigorie wished them both continued success and fulfilment in their future endeavours, both professionally and personally.
