Director of RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation, Ambassador Miroslav Šćepanović, participated in the 19th Dubrovnik Forum, held on 26–27 June 2026, under the overarching theme “The Age of Multipolarity: Many Directions, One Future.”
On the margins of the Dubrovnik Forum, Director Šćepanović met with with H.E. Mr. Timcho Mucunski, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Republic of North Macedonia.
On behalf of RACVIAC, Director Šćepanović welcomed the opportunity to inform Minister Mucunski on the Centre’s key current developments, noting that North Macedonia is one of RACVIAC founding members and most active participants.
Given the numerous activities which RACVIAC, over more than two decades, successfully implemented in partnership and with the support of North Macedonia’s institutions, organisations and experts, concrete areas of possible cooperation were brought up, in the context of RACVIAC programming for 2027 and beyond. The Memorandum of Understanding with the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” was singled out as an exemplary framework for long-term planning of capacity building for a shared regional security.
It was mutually underlined that South East European security heavily relies on the ability of national institutions to efficiently cooperate and effectively act in an environment of complex, multidimensional security risks and threats. Stating that successful regional cooperation on capacity building for increased common security starts with a multinational staff at the Centre itself, Director Šćepanović particularly thanked for Macedonian continued secondment of staff dedicated to RACVIAC mission.
Minister Mucunski emphasised the importance of RACVIAC mission and confirmed his country’s continued support to fostering a cooperative security dialogue in all key areas of the Center’s mandate. He observed that the changing multilateral context should not negatively impact security cooperation in South East Europe.
Minister Mucunski wished Ambassador Šćepanović success at his new position, expressing confidence that his experience will enable RACVIAC to further advance its mission.
The Director’s participation in the Dubrovnik Forum reaffirmed RACVIAC commitment to engaging in high-level international dialogue and strengthening partnerships that contribute to peace, stability and cooperative security throughout South East Europe and beyond.
The Forum once again brought together high-level political leaders, diplomats, representatives of international organizations, academic institutions and think tanks from around the world to exchange views on the most pressing geopolitical and security challenges. This year’s edition featured 20 panels and working sessions, involving more than 100 panelists and speakers and 20 moderators
Throughout the two-day event, discussions focused on the evolving global order and contemporary security challenges, including security and defence, energy resilience, artificial intelligence, critical raw materials, maritime security, economic connectivity, as well as challenges and opportunities in the Mediterranean, Africa, the Asia-Pacific region and the Western Balkans.
