Upon the invtation of Director of RACVIAC, H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Zagreb, H.E. Archbishop Giorgio Lingua, Apostolic Nuncio in the Republic of Croatia, visited RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation on 23 February 2024. Being the first Apostolic Nuncio visit to RACVIAC to date, it was a special event in RACVIAC history.

On the occasion Apostolic Nuncio became familiar with the work of the Centre and its personnel, and also had a tête-à-tête meeting with Ambassador Grigorie, who briefed him on the history of RACVIAC and its ongoing efforts to improve international security cooperation.

Additionally, Director of RACVIAC presented the 2024 Programme with new propositions on how to improve cooperation and initiatives to advance regional stability. The opportunity was also seized to speak with the representatives of RACVIAC Programme staff.

Following the participation of Apostolic Nuncio Lingua in the RACVIAC flagship event in December 2023, „Security Challenges for Europe“, Ambassador Grigorie informed the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps that RACVIAC has the pleasure of inviting Apostolic Nuncio to other RACVIAC activities as well. H.E. Archbishop Lingua express openess regarding the prospect of working with RACVIAC and exploring possibilities to bolster the dialogue with the Centre for Security Cooperation.

He stated appreciation for RACVIAC efforts in fostering dialoge on security matters in SEE and  expressed his gratitude for the gracious invitation by the Director of RACVIAC and his pleasure in accepting it. Additionally, he thanked RACVIAC for the information presented and praised the Organization’s overall work during the last 23 years.

Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie thanked for the visit reiterating the strong will to continue the dialogue with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Zagreb.
