  • Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Ambassador Anna Boda, pays a visit to RACVIAC

On Friday, February 2nd, 2024, Her Excellency Anna Boda, Ambassador of the Kingdom Sweden to the Republic of Croatia, was warmly welcomed and hosted by RACVIAC Director, H.E. Ambassador Constantin – Mihail Grigorie on RACVIAC premises.

Ambassador Grigorie introduced her to the history of RACVIAC and its ongoing efforts to improve international defence and security cooperation. The 2024 Programme was presented together with new initiatives to enhance collaboration and regional stability.

The Kingdom of Sweden, as an Associate Member, is mostly engaged in RACVIAC work through the Nordic Center for Gender in Military Operations (NCGM)’s support for „Gender Training of the Trainers“ courses which RACVIAC has been regularly conducting since 2014. It has become a traditional training event organized together with the Croatian Armed Forces as a partner and under the supervision of the Nordic Center for Gender in Military Operations (main NATO body for gender in military operations). Through this activity RACVIAC Members have developed a network of more than 200 gender instructors in the SEE region.

Also, in 2006 and 2007, Sweden financially supported the engagement of Ms Lena Andersson, who was an external expert in the Defense Conversion Cell, now SSG Pillar.

Ambassador Boda expressed her appreciation for the presentation and complimented the outstanding contribution of RACVIAC to ensure peace and dialogue in the region.

Sharing the goals of security and cooperation, Her Excellency Boda and His Excellency Grigorie both accentuated their willingness to put efforts into expanding Sweden’s cooperation with RACVIAC.
