Upon the invitation of RACVIAC Director, H.E. Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie, H.E. Mr. Arne Sannes Bjørnstad, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Croatia, visited RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation on January 16, 2024.
Ambassador Bjørnstad was warmly welcomed in RACVIAC facilities in Rakitje where he gained a comprehensive understanding of RACVIAC operations and was introduced to members of personnel. The visit included a tête-à-tête meeting with Ambassador Grigorie, during which he provided insights into RACVIAC history and its ongoing efforts to promote international defense and security cooperation. The presentation of the 2024 Programme highlighted new opportunities for enhancing mutual trust and collaborative initiatives focused on regional stability. Additionally, a meaningful discussion took place with RACVIAC Programme staff.
Ambassador Grigorie expressed gratitude for Kingdom of Norway’s contributions as an Associate Member, particularly for sending participants to RACVIAC activities and the significant financial support provided from 2004 to 2017. He welcomed the prospect of more intensive cooperation with the Kingdom of Norway in the future, aiming to assist RACVIAC in achieving its mission of promoting regional security, stability, and fostering dialogue among South East European countries.
Emphasizing their shared objectives of promoting security and cooperation in South East Europe, both H.E. Ambassador Bjørnstad and H.E. Ambassador Grigorie highlighted their commitment to actively work towards enhancing collaboration between the Kingdom of Norway and RACVIAC.
Ambassador Bjørnstad conveyed gratitude for the invitation, expressing pleasure in accepting it.
Furthermore, he appreciated the information shared and complimented RACVIAC commendable efforts over the past 23 years. Ambassador Bjørnstad showed special interest in activities related to cyber and strategic communications and promised to do his best to encourage cooperation between RACVIAC and the Kingdom of Norway.
Ambassador Constantin-Mihail Grigorie thanked for the visit, praising the expressed interest in the Organization’s work and future cooperation.
