Upon the invitation of RACVIAC Director, H.E. Constantin – Mihail Grigorie, H.E. Ole Frijs – Madsen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Republic of Croatia, paid a visit to RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation on 11 December 2023. The meeting, held at RACVIAC premises, served as a platform to discuss further cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
The visit included a tête-à-tête with Ambassador Grigorie as well as a short briefing about RACVIAC and a discussion with the Programme staff. During the visit Ambassador Frijs – Madsen was presented with RACVIAC history, mission and vision and Programme of activities, in order to get more acquainted with the work of RACVIAC.
Ambassador Grigorie expressed his thankfulness for Kingdom of Denmark’s contribution, as an Associate Member, to the work of RACVIAC mainly in the form of sending participants to its activities and its significant financial contribution in the period 2006-2010 and also support for the execution of RACVIAC activities. Also, Kingdom of Denmark was providing financial contribution for BA secondees until 2009 and several activities under the Regional Search and Rescue Project, conducted from 2013 to 2014, were directly supported by the Kingdom of Denmark.
Ambassador Grigorie engaged in a productive dialogue, underlining the importance of fostering closer ties between Kingdom of Denmark and RACVIAC. The meeting emphasized the shared commitment of both sides to enhance regional and global security.
Ambassador Frijs – Madsen praised RACVIAC work and showed special interest in the fields RACVIAC cooperates in with NATO and OSCE. He also asked for a detailed explanation regarding areas where Kingdom of Denmark could intensify cooperation with RACVIAC. Ambassador Grigorie emphasized the significance of RACVIAC role in promoting regional stability and welcomed the potential for deeper involvement and engagement with the Organization. Ambassador Grigorie reiterated RACVIAC commitment to facilitating dialogue and cooperation among its Members to address common security challenges.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Director of RACVIAC recognized the growing security challenges and the need to increase cooperation with the Kingdom of Denmark as RACVIAC Associate Member.
